THE IDEOLOGY

​

Over the years when I was working at Revolution, I felt that it was important for us to adopt our own signature style watch imageries to stand out from the crowd. We often push the boundaries of editorial watch photography, going the extra mile to explore different styles and staying creative when working within restrictions. 

​

The Baselworld Watch and Jewellery fair is a yearly affair showcasing new watches and jewellery from renowned watch companies. Even though we couldn’t gain access to the actual watches, with the same press materials available to every press and media ( often watch product images with either a white or black plain background ), we can still work our Revolution-styled magic to create exciting imagery of the year’s best watch pieces!

 

For this editorial spread, we had a music theme running through. Each watch placement was pre-planned before we shoot the background setting. During the post production stage, every watch image has to be retouched to fit the lighting and mood of the background shot, and adjusted proportionately to it’s actual case size.
