THE IDEOLOGY

​

When conceptualising shoot ideas for this project, I directed my attention to 2 aspects, inspired by Blancpain and the majestic ocean - first the intriguing sport of Freediving, and Blanpain’s Ocean Commitment to oceanic expeditions and preservation.

​

The Freediving sport intrigues me and I often wonder how it is like to hold your breath underwater for a long amount of time while descending into a dark, silent world beneath. Some say it is an extreme sport where many free divers has succeeded to defy science and the known capacity of the human body under intense pressure. 

​

The National Geographic style underwater shots you see were shot entirely indoors, but the result, through inventive photography and meticulous digital imaging, solitary depiction of man, watch and the deep blue ocean.
